In 1986 Stephen Strong started a business called Trycosopht, through which he offered services and software for Amiga computers. In 1994 Stephen Strong and Emma Strong began a business partnership under the name of Strong Computer Services. At that stage the business provided network services, training, and software development to various companies, many of which were in the Mining Industry. In 1996 the business was incorporated into SCSM Pty Ltd.

During the 1990's our work at SCSM Pty Ltd was primarily in the area of Systems Architecture and software development for large organizations and Government Departments such as Westrail (now Transwa) and Treasury of WA. Stephen Strong (Managing Director) was the Senior Systems Architect, while others took on some of the programming. Our development projects for multiple sales have included Exinfo, a programme of exploration metadata aimed at Mining Companies who were exploring for deposits.

In November 2002 SCSM begun providing SQL Server consulting services to Microsoft. Downsteam clients include: Australian Tax Office, CenterLink, DEEWR, FaHCSIA, Australia Post, and AGL. In 2008 we branched out to provide engineering services to the Australian Defence Industry.
